Permian Basin Geophysical Society

History of the PBGS: Epilogue

The history of the PBGS has thus been covered from inception to a finite point in time. The Society will continue to function, prosper and benefit the members of long as those members participate. I hope the history will influence the future.

There is a suggestion to be made which is twofold:

  1. Assign responsibility (preferably to the Library committee Chairman) for maintaining and distributing information on the significant (or otherwise) events of each completed term to the institutions maintaining copies of this history, or

  2. Appoint a historian to serve a minimum 3 year term to accomplish the same goal.

Geophysics will always be an area of importance to world survival and “Doodlebuggers” will do the work. So should it be with the PBGS – without end.
