The Fall season followed the usual programs of luncheon meetings and the ever popular Doodlebug Open golf tournament.
One of our winter papers (December) was given by Thomas L. Davis on the subject of multi-component surveys in the Rocky Mountains to research the future of reservoir characterization. Prof. Davis is Professor of Geophysics at Colorado School of Mines. The investigation covered chalk, fractured sandstone and coalbed methane reservoirs.
A significant milestone this year came when the PBGS was able to fund a savings account program that would guarantee our yearly scholarship program. An additional recognition came to us when Hal Pardue was nominated for the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the SEG.
The 33rd Annual Meeting was held at the Holiday Inn (Country Villa) with Carrol Thomas welcoming guests. Mr. Bud Grant, SEG President, gave the keynote address. Eight additional papers were presented including a case study by Hal Pardue and a variety of acquisition and processing techniques.
