History of the PBGS: 1987-2005 Prologue

This supplement was done in the same spirit that guided the first “History,” which is to say that it should be done to preserve events of the past for current and future members of the society. The format used is basically the same as for the original. The main difference is that the source material for the first volume consisted of on-file records of most of the officers for each year reported. This means all correspondence, etc. which took considerable time to go through. For this supplement there were very few complete files and most of the information recorded in the supplement was abstracted from Newletters and Annual Meeting brochures. Some personal contact provided a few additional items.

I wish to express my appreciation to Decker Dawson, John Daniels and Cynthia Black for their assistance in proofreading and providing information which made the history a more complete manuscript than the one I originally prepared.
